Posterity, n.
I try not to think about us growing old together, mostly
because I try not to think about growing old at all. Both things-the years
passing, the years together-are too enormous to contemplate. But one morning, I
gave in. You were asleep, and I imagined you older and older. Your hair
graying, your skin folded and creased, your breath catching. And I found myself
thinking: If this continues, if this goes on, then when I die, your memories of
me will be my greatest accomplishment. Your memories will be my most lasting
impression.

I'm so excited to share...
...the project I have been working on this summer!
I would be so much more excited if you were to stop by,
and even more excited than that if you were to bring friends!

Something Revolutionary is about to take place.
"I am unimpressed by recent movements
I need a new direction
Something to believe in to have faith in
An activity to turn to
Something revolutionary."
-From Robin Collyer's photographic piece Something Revolutionary
I've finally found my new direction, an activity to turn to, something revolutionary. Mostly because it is something I believe and have faith in. I encourage you to do whatever it is you want to do. You just have to get up and do it.

Turning Tables, Rudy Francisco.
You are a sentence with no punctuation. A kaleidoscope full of colors that I don’t remember learning in elementary school. Your voice, is the sound I’ve been looking for my entire life.
Your smile. The only sunrise worth setting my alarm clock early enough to see. If I could, I would shape shift into the first thing you think about in the morning, just so I could be reminded of what it’s like to wake up next to you.
I love you in a language that I don’t fully understand. In words that I haven’t found enough courage to forklift out of my chest. I hear that karma is vengeful and also a light sleeper, so I’ve chosen to love you like this.
Quietly. So I’ll call your phone and hang up before it actually rings. I’ll write you letters that you’ll never read. And when I see you in public, I’ll stick my hand inside of a bagful of things that I haven’t done since you left me and pull out a smile. I’ll say something like, “Hello”. “It’s nice to see you”.
And then I’ll keep walking.
And then I’ll keep walking.

NYC!
Going to NEW YORK with one of my best friends at the end of July to see The Strivers Row, a beautiful BEAUTIFUL group of performance artists. I'm so excited. Actually, excited doesn't even sum it up. Joshua Bennett, a spoken word artist, is my favorite of the group and inspires me beyond belief.
This one gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it:
"Hoping
that I could literally steal a glance
download it
on my retinas and replay the moment our eyes first played freeze
tag
and neither
one of us wanted to stop being it
so we just
kept on touching
hoping that
Father Time would give us a hall pass
and allow
us to orbit one another forever
and
speaking of orbits
did you
know that there are more stars in the sky
than grains
of sand on the entire planet
and that I
would give you either one if you merely asked
build the
night from the sky’s skin
like the
rind of an orange
or ask God
if I could borrow the breeze for just a moment
and blow
the shoreline of every beach
into a
giant hour-glass made just for us and say
this is how long I will adore the
things about you that no one else even notices”

More love.
After certain events this past month (and specifically this weekend), I have come to the realization that this world needs more love:
Self-love, first love, selfless love, unconditional love, love that has you smiling at a stranger,
tangled-in-the-sheets-all-day-love, love that doesn't ask for anything in return, love that has us smiling and love that produces kindness.
i had nothing to spend but time on you,
it made me love more.
it made me love more.
